7 Extreme Weight Loss Tips

The Not So Great

So we have discussed quite a few weight loss techniques on 101HealthAdvice, some are good and a few are bad. But today we wanted to show you 7 extreme weight loss tips that you should find mildly entertaining. Without further ado, here is our 7.

weight loss injecting urine

Urine Injections

I thought I had heard it all, but this one just had to be on the list of what NOT to do.  This method involves injecting urine into yourself. Yes URINE. But what makes this urine special is that it comes from pregnant women. You inject it daily and the “hormones” inside the urine are supposed to trick your brain into thinking you are pregnant…

This dose of hCG trick is supposed to help the body metabolize faster, and in turn help you lose weight. Now the mere thought of having urine placed inside me from some other person is weird enough, but the fact that I would be tricking my, male, body into thinking it was pregnant is more than enough to make me steer clear of this “method” if you can even call it that.

Nasogastric Dripping Tube

This one just sounds completely uncomfortable. A doctor sticks a tube down your nose that reaches your stomach. You then have a bag of their “mixture” that is dripped through the tube into your stomach.  The method is supposed to trigger a process called “ketosis” which burns body fat due to the lack of carbohydrates. With promises of losing 20 pounds in just 10 days it seems like something everybody would want to do. So if you are up to the challenge of having a tube shoved down your stomach through your nose then carrying a bag of liquids around all day as your source of food then this could be for you. Oh, and we forgot to mention that you can not eat for 10 days.

Having an Imaginary Gastric Band

Imaginary Gastric Band

Does the idea of hypnosis make you laugh a bit? Than this will have you rolling. Introducing the Imaginary Gastric Band. With typical gastric bands (the LAP-Band) you have to have a surgery i which there is a band places around your stomach. This in turn makes you feel full after eating less food leading to losing weight. The downside is, you have to have surgery. So the Elite Clinic in Marbella decided to try a different effect. They put a patient in a trance and talked her through the procedure that would typically be done with the Gastric Band surgery. The idea was that she would believe the band had been placed there and would feel full faster.

The results?

Well the results are that the lady claims it worked great and she is losing 3lbs a week. She has “plummeted from size 22 to 14 in four months”. I for one have a very hard time believing this, but who am I to say, I’ll let you all decide if you think this one is real or not.

Bite Counter

All the rage now day is counting your steps, how far you ran, etc etc. But what if we told you there was a watch that would count how many bites you took? Hence comes the Bite Counter, this watch keeps track of how often you shove food down your throat and is supposed to make you more conscious of how often you truly eat. To me, I feel like people will just eat with the other hand in order to avoid seeing the number grow, or daily movements will inflate the number a bit. I’ve used some devices to count my steps and I must say it was very intriguing to see how inactive I was some days, but I’m not sure if I really want to see how many times I shoved food in my face. Let us know what you think about the bite counter in the comments below.

Mile High Club

This extreme weight loss tip is actually pretty cool. There were a group of scientists that took 20 middle-aged overweight men to a research station that is located just 1000 feet below the peak of Zugspritze, the highest mountain in Germany. While there they were told they could eat and drink anything they wanted as long as they did not exercise, or anything more than a casual stroll. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly to the scientists, they lost on average 3lbs in that week and a month later on average they had kept the 2lb off. So what are the reasons they lost weight? Well due to the high altitudes they ate on average 730 calories less. They felt less hungry due to surging levels of leptin while grehlin (the hunger hormone) stayed the same. Between all the men there was a huge spike in metabolic rate, so they were able to burn more than they would at their usual ground levels.

So in short, it worked! Also, this could be a fun trip to take with family or friends. Unfortunately, the effects only last 6 months, so after that time is up you will return to normal eating habits or you could just return up the mountain and do it over again!

Paintball Therapy

Love to paintball? Want to lose weight will avoiding getting hit by said paintballs? Then this is right up your ally. A UK paintball company has come out with a new weight loss program, of which they claim to be the first ever. The process behind the madness is quite simple. Have your patients running through an assault course (obstacle course) while being shot at with paintballs. The results? People running for their lives in hopes of losing weight. Which this company claims that each session can burn between 800-1000 calories.

It is a 10 week course costing just a hair over $200, and aside from just not getting hit by the flying paintballs there is not much else to learn to do this weight loss program. Although, I have suspicions that the creators behind this extreme weight loss method are just bad paintballers who want to get paid to finally get to shot others without the fear of being shot back.

Pleasurable Weight Loss

I wasn’t really sure how to title this one without just giving it away. This is by far the most fun sounding way to lose weight. Some may call this an over-the-top extreme weight loss tip, but I feel it is one that everyone should put into place at some point or another in their lifetime. WARNING: please do not let this subject come across as afflicting to any political stances or religious standpoints. It is meant as entertainment and amusement. Here is our last, and probably best, tip of the day.

So you may have heard about the worlds largest woman, at age 47 she took the Guinness World Record title coming in at just 700 pounds. What you may not have known is that over the last year she has lost 100 POUNDS. She claims that this all came simple because she got back with her ex-husband Alex. They were married for 3 years and split, but shortly after she received this title she got back with him. And how did they start their renewed relationship? With sex, lots and lots of sex.

At her highest weight she was consuming 10,000 calories a day, with her new found love and love for losing weight the fun way will she be able to reach her goal weight of about 530lb? Only time will tell. But what does that say for the casual love-goer, will you be trying this extreme (or maybe not-so-extreme) method of losing weight? Let us know in the comments below!

Oh, here is a picture of her before and after.
